Group Captain Ben Sharp is passionate about translating technology into strategic advantage, to strengthen nations, empower people and build a more prosperous world.

Since 2002, he has had the privilege of serving as a Royal Air Force officer, which has taken him from muddy airfields and deserts to Ministry of Defence boardrooms (sometimes in the same week). Whether building cyberspace resilience, shaping the delivery of UK space power or helping NATO strengthen partner security institutions, he is driven by one question: how do we turn complex technology into meaningful advantage for people and nations?

Along the way, Ben has led diverse teams across the world, overseen cutting-edge space systems and contributed to the UK’s 2021 and 2025 Strategic Defence Reviews. He is currently the lead for developing Space Strategy & Plans within the Ministry of Defence’s Air & Space Staff.

Outside the uniform, he is a Fellow of both the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Institute of Engineering & Technology, a recent trustee of two Christian charities, and a hands-on dad of two — although his children still consider him their least qualified tech support.
