Andy Challen

The ICEYE Mission offer enables customers to own and operate a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Satellite capability to gain an uninhibited view of the ground truth from space. Andy leads the ICEYE team for Mission Campaigns in the UK, and brings his wider defence and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance experience to Global Campaigns.

As operators of the largest SAR satellite constellation, ICEYE are able to provide customers with actionable information in a timely manner now, and the team continually develop and upgrade the capability both on-orbit and in the laboratory.

Previously Andy Worked for Inzpire Ltd, embedded in the MOD Trade and Strategic Export Policy team. Prior to this Andy was a senior manager at Deloitte, working mainly in the resilience and crisis management practice, helping a range of industry sector customers with their challenges.

Andy served in the Royal Air Force for 24 years, working in operational, command, and staff environments. These included frontline squadrons, HQ Air Command, The British Defence Staff in the US, the Air and Space Warfare Centre, and as Commander of Operations on UK and overseas Expeditionary Air Wings.

His knowledge and experience of ISR was formed early in his career when he was trained in the Ground Attack and Reconnaissance role on the Tornado GR1 and GR4. He ew operational ground attack and reconnaissance missions from 1997 to 2013, amassing over 2000 ying hours on the Tornado.
