Nikki Antoniou has worked within Airbus Defence and Space UK for 18 years, working across future programmes and systems engineering as a space mission designer, including a decade with Airbus subsidiary SSTL. She is now leading the UK Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Team within UK National Future Programmes for Space Systems. She was the Capture Lead for a Airbus Transnational Space Debris Innovation Team, leading to the Harpoon capture concept and a patent for a universal grapple adapter. Since then she has worked on a number of Space Weather activities (including ESA’s Solar Orbiter and ESA’s D3S), and also led the early phase mission and platform developments for a number of the UKSA Active Debris Removal mission candidate studies.
